CATEGORY: The Missing Feature - Our running list of the most essential things we wish our software and gadgets could do...but don't, yet. We'll keep this blog stocked with the most user-friendly, timesaving suggestions we can think of. When word gets out about our great ideas, well, it's only a matter of time before the engineers at Apple, Adobe, and Microsoft respond, right?
Hello. I'm David Pogue, creator of the Missing Manual Series and New York Times tech Columnist.
What I'd like to see is Leopard 10.5.2, the fabled update that's going to fix everything. Because I dearly love Leopard and I love Quickbooks and I love Spaces and I love Safari, but I still have a lot of glitches.
And, the word on the street is that there's this great, big, multi-hundred megabytes update called 10.5.2 that's going to fix a lot of stuff, including the dock. It's going to give you the options to turn off those god-awful stacks that prevent you from seeing everything that's in the folder on your dock and give us back the tidy little hierarchical menu.
I too can't wait for an update for Leopard. I have been having problems with some Adobe CS3 applications. I can use them but there are glitches that constantly have to be dealt with. I am not unhappy enough to go back to Tiger although I do have a backup drive with Tiger on it and can use it when necessary.

Does anyone know when the Missing manual book will be updated for 10.5.2 ? thanks
