Circulator - An iPhone Developer Success Story - Episode 2

Circulator IconMartin and Dominik got excited about a week before the WWDC when both found themselves with a bit of time on their hands having come to the valley a bit early now waiting for WWDC to start.

"We decided to give iPhone development a try to see what it was like", remembers Martin. Seeing how far they got in just one week made them want to try for gold: They signed the paper work for the iPhone App Store on the spot at WWDC.

Polishing the app and preparing the website kept the CodingMonkeys busy during the days leading up to the submission deadline last week and the release today. But they made it and today, Circulator is available on the App Store for $5.99

Circulator Circulator keeps track of all the things your friends have borrowed from you. And the other way round. Martin points out that he needed this app himself, because his friends didn't return the things they borrowed from him.

There is some cool stuff in the product: Circulator uses the iPhone camera to take pictures of the things people borrow from you. There is no need to build a database of your stuff beforehand, you can add things ad hoc when you need it. Circulator reminds your friends by SMS or email when the time has come to return an item. Watch the cool webcast on the CodingMonkey website.

Now Martin and Dominik are holding their breath: Will the app make them rich? Will the app store give them the stats they need to follow their progress? Will the customers be cool people liking their product? Will they be requiring a lot of support?

We will find out in the next episode.
