Hi!

I'm really rather excited (one may even go as far as to say wickedpsyched) to be part of this unique weblog, working with our good friends over here at O'Reilly. When Derrick and Erica asked me if I would join their crack team of 'bloggers, I simply jumped at the chance. How could I possibly resist? One thing I'm sure of is that it will be a really interesting journey...

Our own iPhone journey started last year when we quickly discovered that the iPhone was actually a rather nifty UNIX platform... the rest as they say is history. In just short of 12 months, the iPhone has clearly changed the world, and along with it, the ever evolving world of iPhone development continues aplomb.

The overall pace of development and ideas is amazingly hard to fathom! We see thousands of lines of 3rd party code, and many more SDK sanctioned codes are pouring out of SVN repositories each week...

It is simply just staggering!

I hope you will all enjoy reading my future posts as I first try to explain our somewhat checkered and yet totally fascinating past. Once I get through that, it will be full steam ahead into the lure of the tantalizing, alluring, mystical, (ok, I just totally ran out of metaphor... phew) firmware 2.0 releases. Maybe it will be 3.0, who knows what the future will bring, I know one thing -- it will be an utter blast however it pans out!

No doubt there will also be some wonderful randomness along the way, each day thus far this unique platform has always generated great things to talk about. This year looks all lined up to generate even more amazing content, ideas, and well heck just some plain old weird stuff to chat about.

Well anyways, welcome aboard! I hope you will get the chance to check in often as we start to fill out this unique corner of the net, and totally get "Inside" the iPhone -- it's going to be fun!
