Borrowing Nat Torkington's useful "four short links" format, I thought I'd round up a few items related to Head First you may have missed:

  1. Four ways that writing Head First has blown my mind -- Michael Milton explains four ways working on Head First Data Analysis has changed his writing forever.
  2. A few quick thoughts on keeping readers motivated -- On the heels of completing the Second Edition of Head First PMP, Andrew Stellman talks about the challenge of keeping learners interested and engaged.
  3. The Tortoise and the Hare: Made to Stick -- A video supplement to Made to Stick, by Chip Heath and Dan Heath (a Head First recommended read), using Aesop's fable and a personal twist to help explain the key concepts of SUCCESs.

  1. Introducing the Back of the Napkin -- A brief, hands-on introduction to Dan Roam's excellent book, another book high on the Head First recommended reading list.

Wow, the second video is awesome! I actually created my own version of it in Photoshop, and damn. It's exactly what I needed.

key concepts of SUCCESs - noticed this on the four-short-links page - SUCCESS

The second video "on the back of a napkin" is a really nice tight description of web projects with a resonance between the organisational structure (surely not accidental) and web2 structure (CSS/HTML/JavaScript or whatever programming paradigm is used).

Taking five minutes away from Head First SQL I found this page and the awesome Back Of A Napkin vid. Thrilling and inspiring, thanks, Andy

I love it! It can apply to any type of problem, much less websites. I attended a recent seminar & a topic was titled : Eschew Obfuscation. Or in basic terms: Keep it Simple : )
