This website has headfirst-y tutorials. Main focus here is programming languages (lisp, haskell). The use of cartoons and gentle humour makes the reading a quality experience.

I am a bit bored with human faces in headfirst books (they are quite good, but most of them seem to be rehashed in every other headfirst book!)
For a change, how about cartoons instead of models? (or the mix of it!)
