Good article on disintermediation (video over IP changing traditional broadcast models)): "Hollywood believes large-scale broadband video distribution would only destroy proven value, fail to provide alternative value, and alter a business model that is still far from being in decline. With near-total control of the most valuable program libraries and the business models governing their distribution, a shift towards broadband media will come largely on Hollywoods terms and at an incremental pace."
Like Vietnam or another recent war who's name I forget, the HD DVD wars linger on with no timetable for conclusion...
This company uses the same voices (from a European company called Acapela) that I licensed for my in-car computer company. It's a very good idea; i've seen a few implementations but usually they're too annoying to listen to at length. A good trick is to use a UK English voice if you're american, or vice versa - then, the roboticness of the voice fades even more and your email sounds like a BBC broadcast.
If you're trying to get your iPod (or any other digital media device) connected to your car radio, you should read this article.
Video space shifting article.
I've started blogging at siliconvalleywatcher.com specifically on the subject of digital video. This link goes to an excerpt from my book on digital rights management for internet video. It's written in the form of a movie script and is an extremely entertaining read.
Tom's Hardware Guide has an article on In-Car Infotainment, including a detailed video of my Mac Mini installation into a Dodge Caravan (a MacMiniVan!).
"Because of the Internet, you can have thousands if not millions of individuals around the world share information about whether that invention actually took place years and years ago. You'll find volunteers and others interested in a public inspection of patents. The technology [currently] exists for that."
"We are saying that the granting of it, inspection of it, challenge, and post grant should be enhanced to take full advantage of new technologies and also the brain power of people around the world to make sure it is truly new things that are coming out."

Good flash movie about promoting Hitachi 10x'ing the size of their hard drives with higher-density storage. Styled like "I'm just a bill" or similar 80's public service announcements. Cute.
Simple hack using Skype as an audio interviewing and archive tool. Instead of needing phone interview recording hardware (which you might not have) you can use computer tools (which you have in abundance).
