America at Home: Make Yourself a Cover Girl or Boy
My friend Rick Smolan dropped me a line about the America at Home project. If you haven't seen the book, it's an amazing collection of images captured all across the US. The cool thing is, that you can easily design your own custom cover for the book, which makes a terrific gift for friends and family. Here's what Rick had to say.
Ever dreamt of being featured on the cover of a best selling book? Or having a photo you took featured on the cover of best seller?
Well with the holidays nearly upon us, we wanted to tell you about the ultimate personalized gift being offered to the O'Reilly community at a special $10 discount.
AMERICA AT HOME is extraordinary book created by 100 of the worlds leading photographers and tens of thousands of amateurs over the course of one week (its from the folks who created the best selling "Day in the Life" books). The large format 224 page book book offers an unexpected look at the rituals, ceremonies and all the myriad ways in which we work, play, learn, conduct our lives, and interact with friends, family members (and pets!) as we transform our dwellings into our homes.
In addition to fascinating photos the book also features personal essays by author Amy Tan, Simsons' creator Matt Groening, New York Times writer David Pogue, House and Garden editor Dominique Browning and others.
The coolest thing about the book is that you can upload a photo of your own kids or your home or pets and when the book arrives your family is featured on the cover of the book (see the example featured here by Troy McSimov). You can also make free 3D virtual covers and email them to friends or embed them on your facebook page and on your blog.
Simply upload a photo to the project website at America at Home before December 15 to receive it in time for the holidays.

I checked with Rick, and he wrote that O'Reilly, OREILLY, and ORIELLY codes were all entered, and any of them will work. I asked him because I was wondering myself if the discount code he gave me was incorrect.
So pick your favorite spelling!
Are you sure the discount code is misspelled like that? "ORIELLY"
