VMware Fusion 2.0 RC1 Includes Free 1yr McAfee VirusScan

VMware released Fusion 2.0's Release Candidate 1 (RC1) on Aug. 29. I found it interesting that it provides a free one year McAfee VirusScan Plus subscription.

This helps resolve one of the issues with running Windows as a virtualized Guest OS on a Mac. However, I've found McAfee's and Symantec's consumer anti-virus products to be very heavy (large) and slows down Windows significantly (especially during the boot process). There are some lighter weight (faster) for-fee and freeware anti-virus products you might want to also consider if you run Windows on your Mac. McAfee's VirusScan Plus also includes an anti-spyware component. So, that, I admit, is a plus in its column.
