Mission: Gather Free Electronic Grooves

kahvi.org

While tracking down some cool songs I heard on the Space Music podcast, I found Kahvi.org, a huge collection of free electronic music in MP3 and (mostly) Ogg Vorbis format.

There are currently over 800 songs from independent artists, and the site is soliciting more. The terms of use are interesting: Tracks are released under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works license, with the addition "IF an artist gets signed to a 'real' record label, IF he / she decides to use a track already released on Kahvi then he / she *MUST* make a valid effort to create a new or remixed version for use INSTEAD."

Check it out and leave a link here if you find something especially good as well.

Darkstar, you are correct. If there is a risk that open encrypted volumes of interest would close on power loss, it is preferable to employ a live forensic tool and not to cut the power. Yes, that's a very tough call for a first responder to make. Then again, LE also has the option of arresting the perp and requesting/coercing the password.
