Yikes! The Killer Keyboard

Here's the wackiest warning sticker I've ever seen on a musical instrument. What's stranger is it was from a keyboard designed for little kids! The image below is a scan of the sticker laid on top of a photo from the company's website.

WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects. Wash hands after handling.

UPDATE, 2007-05-30: To be fair, I contacted the keyboard's manufacturer, who noted:

Like EVERY manufacturer of electronic products, [we] must comply with the Reduction of Hazardous Substances Standard. This mandates that we are liable for any injury caused by harmful substances that may be in our products. There is no threshold for this, so even if our products contain only barely traceable amounts of what is deemed a harmful substance (lead, etc.), we must put this disclaimer on. This is purely for legal reasons; we do not believe there is anything dangerous about our keyboards.
Again, this is a standard that every manufacturer of electronics must go by and warn people about; if you look in other manuals from other manufacturers, you will find this as well.

Fair enough. I now recall seeing the same warning on a bag of sand designed for kiddie sandboxes. At some point, these notices will lose their scare value. On the other hand, the Monome 40h controller was assembled in compliance with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, so there is hope—if we're willing to pay extra.
