The Where 2.0 Conference has its traditions, but we also bring in new activities and participants to inform and inspire. This year, one of the show's highlights is a mash up of the new with the traditional in the form of recognizing winners of the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge during Ignite Where on Tuesday night, March 30.
Ignite Where kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and NAVTEQ's seven year old Global LBS Challenge developer competition takes the main stage live at 8:00 p.m. All twelve finalists will make a one minute pitch of their location-based applications, giving the audience a taste of what it takes to make it to the Challenge finals.
NAVTEQ has added a few new wrinkles to the competition this year, including polling the audience live via SMS to see if their predictions jibe with the judges' conclusions. There's a lot at stake, so it's bound to be a nail-biter--the winner walks away with a share of a global prize pool valued at over $10 million in cash, data licenses, and other prizes.
Ignite Where and the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge are open to the public as well as to all Where 2.0 Conference attendees.
