It's no secret that I was really inspired by RIAdventure - I've been to and spoken at many conferences, but this was the first I had been to that was devoted to RIA's. One thing that was kind of nice and kind of odd was that I had the womens' bathroom to myself. This was nice, because the bathroom closest to our conference room had only one stall, but it underlined that I was the only woman there. This made me really curious about what other women might have been there had I been at a different conference. It's kind of difficult to find out much about conference attendees, so I thought I'd look at the women who have been speaking at recent conferences or are scheduled to speak in the next few months. Some of these women are ones I've known for a while, and others I discovered by going on this search.
Something terrible has happened. I've just returned from the RIAdventure Conference. Yes, I've said it. This is the only conference I've ever been to where it felt tragic that it was over. I don't think I'll be able to convey...
Flash and the City is a little less than 6 months away, but preparations are being made around the clock to ensure it will be the premier Flash conference in 2010. The conference's main organizer, Elad Elrom, along with...
The upcoming 306|Flex conference in San Jose next year will feature a plethora of InsideRIA bloggers as well as a few other big names in the industry. In the past this has been one of the best conferences for sharpening your skills and making new contacts within the Flex industry, and if the speaker list is anything to go by then San Jose 2010 will be the best 360|Flex yet. As of this morning there were only 20 early-bird price tickets left available, so if you haven't registered thenAnd make sure you get on it! Here are the top 10 presentations I'm looking forward to at 360|Flex San Jose 2010, in no particular order...
Kevin Shuttle already beat me to the proverbial punch with his review, but I'd to share some of my thoughts on a recent Boston based conference called RIA Unleashed. This developer focused event was recently held at Bentley College, Waltham,...
Boston was home to the RIAUnleashed conference on Friday, November 13, and was jam-packed with Flex, AIR, ColdFusion and other RIA goodness. What was so unique to me about this conference was the fact that not only were the speakers...
RIA Unleashed - Boston is a 1 day 3 track event covering Flex, AIR, ColdFusion and related technologies and disciplines. Our three tracks are designed to allow you to focus on the technologies you are interested in. You'll be able...
Here are a few events that are in the near future you may wish to attend: BFusion / BFlex - Two days of hands-on training from the experts in Adobe Flex and ColdFusion. ColdFusion — October 24, 2009 Flex —...

This has been a great year for events in the Flex and ColdFusion communities, and it's certainly not over yet. On November 13, 2009 RIA Unleashed is happening at Bentley University in Waltham, MA (Boston area). This event is offering several things that make me really excited!

In this episode we talked all the exciting preparations and announcements for MAX with Rachel Luxemburg. We also discussed certification, Adobe Groups, Community Experts, and Flash Camps. Val Head joins us briefly to talk about FlashPitt.

Recently, Flash Camp Atlanta was announced, and it will happen on August 28th at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta. This event is shaping up to be an amazing one!

jQuery Conference 2009 has been announced.
Flash on the Beach is fast approaching this year, tickets are selling out faster than ever and we're promised this is going to be the best yet! But don't just take my word for it, I managed to wrangle a few minutes from John Davey, organiser and head honcho of Flash on the Beach, to ask him a few questions about why this is one of the hottest events on the conference calendar.
In fine tradition, Microsoft Australia hosted its version of the annual MIX event in Sydney. The conference, aptly named REMIX, featured the upcoming Silverlight 3, SketchFlow and Blend 3 products, though, much to my chagrin, somewhat superficially.
I have finally recovered from Flash On Tap in Boston and all I can say is WOW! It was truly an incredible conference and the start of something epic. Even though this was the first time holding this conference, the quality of speakers and attendees was on par with what I could have expected from a well established event. I really have to thank Infrared 5 and Influxis for putting on an amazing conference.
Before I begin my cheerful rave about the newest conference on the Flash Platform circuit, let me sum it up in 3 words: Boston. Beer. Flash. Unlike any conference you have ever been to, Flash on Tap was equally about...
Scotch on the Rocks, established in 2005, is a conference concentrating on all things ColdFusion, Flex & AIR: Incorporating keynotes, technical sessions and tutorials, as well as the most innovative and successful experts and companies, Scotch on the Rocks is a...
I have had many inquiries from those who wish to speak at the inaugural InsideRIA conference. I am now happy to announce that the call for papers is now open. For more information please visit the http://www.insideriacon.com. One thing to note is that due to price and length of the show, there has been no budget allocated for speaker travel or hotel. Please keep this in mind when submitting topics. If you don’t mind paying your own way though, we’ll consider your submission. With only 20ish slots, we were planning on a local speaker base. However, we won’t turn away non-locals who understand this limitation, yet still want to be part of this inaugural edition of the event.
It may surprise you to know that the Pacific region has its fair share of web talent. Having just been surrounded by most of them for the past couple of days, I can attest to the fact. This year was my first WebDU, and I'm still tingling.
I am sitting here waiting for my departure a little early from the 360Flex in Indianapolis, disappointed that I have to miss some excellent sessions this afternoon. This was my first 360Flex but I will not be missing any in the future if I have a choice. The content was top-notch and this is by far the single best place to network with other Flex developers, including most of the prominent names you may know well already. Tom Ortega and John Wilker really put on a great show that mixes the best content of a typical conference with a very relaxed and informal feel that is enjoyable.
