Apple leaving Macworld
With just three more weeks to go until San Francisco's Moscone Center opens its doors for Macworld Expo 2009, it is about time to start preparing your visit to the year's most important Mac event. This handful of resources is useful for planning your trip, but they may also come in handy in case you haven't made up your mind about attending yet.
On the features page there's a list of all of the Macworld feature presentations. David Pogue is scheduled for Wednesday and Leo Laporte on Thursday by Leo Laporte. You'll also find the Macworld Magazine's Best of Show Awards on Wednesday. No keynote. Nothing is listed for Tuesday.
Haven't been to Macworld Expo in January, or did not invest in a Conference pass? No problem: a wide selection of presentations from the Users Conference, MacIT Conference, and Specialty Programs tracks from this year's Macworld Expo San Francisco are now available online at Macworld Encore.
With more than 450 exhibitors at this year's Macworld Expo, it's impossible to "see it all." Which is a shame especially because of all those countless small and medium sized companies whose product announcements are often drowned out by the major news from the big players like Apple or Microsoft. Hence, let me point out five products I stumbled over at the 2008 Expo which, in my humblest of opinions, deserve a bit more attention than they have received so far.

O'Reilly authors Mikkel Aaland, Harold Davis, Derrick Story and special guest Rick Smolan will have a panel discussion on digital photography at the SF Apple Store, Wednesday at 4:30.
