Problem:
By the time I die I'll have lost some serious chunk of my life waiting for programs to launch. What's the hold up?
Missing Feature:
This one may sound silly or frivolous, but it's no joke. Have you ever counted how long you wait each time you launch, say, Photoshop Elements or Excel? For those of us chained to our computers 8+ hours per day, those 20 or 30 seconds can add up. My advice to the next-generation operating system engineers in Cupertino and Redmond: come up with some way for programs to start instantaneously. I'd even accept (reasonable) restrictions on the number of applications I could keep open simultaneously.
