We just brought in Douglas Crockford to do a department-wide training for all of our front-end engineers, as part of the O'Reilly Training Master Classes, and it was a phenomenal experience. Douglas Crockford is a master level engineer able to...
It's imperative to identify what your requirements are and the number of resources that you'll need to address them. You must determine what your team needs to accomplish before you begin to assemble it, otherwise you risk redundancy, inefficiency, and slowed or stalled projects. It sounds elementary, but this step can save you a lot of headaches later on.
Just a quick follow-up to the announcement a few weeks ago about The Lost ActionScript Weekend. Two common questions have been coming in: 1. "Will these things be discounted at all?" A discount code is now in place. Here's the...
This month, O'Reilly and Adobe Developer Library are releasing the 13+-hour-long Colin Moock's Lost ActionScript Weekend, a two-part video series of some heft and ambition, the outcome (or logical extension, actually) of a longer, larger process. The back story may be of interest to some.

Dave Johnson, Alexei White and I have finally completed our video training series on Ajax development for high performance and large scale Ajax UIs. Curl has made its professional web-based training courses available for free.
My recent Lynda.com series, AIR for Flash Developers, was recently released in the Lynda.com Online Training Library. In this series, I cover most all of the AIR API and how to integrate it with your Flash files.
As I stated on my blog, this series is not for everyone. It does require a working knowledge of ActionScript 3 and Flash CS3. However, if you need to brush up on these skills, Lynda.com provides additional series that cover most every aspect of Flash and ActionScript training.
