T is for the Image Tooltip window
As you go through your photographs in Aperture, there might be instances when you want to quickly review information about the images that are on display. There are several ways to do it, but the easiest, and the fastest, is to press the letter T while the cursor is on a selected image. The Image Tooltip window displaying the metadata will instantly pop up. It will stay on for about 30 seconds or so, or, you can press T again to make it disappear. While the Image Tooltip window is showing, you can move the cursor to any other image, and the metadata will be updated based on the new image you selected. You can view the metadata of any image in the Main Viewer, and also the thumbnail images in the Browser. And anywhere you might be in Aperture, in the Web Page view as shown in the example above, you can conveniently bring up the Image Tooltip with this shortcut. To modify the Image Tooltip information window, much like the Browser and Viewer metadata, go to the Preferences. And, if T doesn't "fit you to a tee," you can just as easily modify it to your preferred keyboard shortcut as well.

I REALLY needed this 'tip' in Ap. 1. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to look at metadata while in fullscreen, but had to leave and wait for the image to re-render at the new window size. Even with the different tabs in the HUD, it's still slow to switch back and forth between the adjustments and metadata tab, at least when you're using an old 1.67Ghz PowerBook G4. This little guy should save me a fair amount of hassle, and plays well into my penchant for single-key key commands.
Hats off to oreilly, once again. Cheers.
