A friend in the advertising world sent me a link to this new Canon Rebel XSi commercial. It's a beautiful commercial, using still images instead of video to tell a story - and to sell a camera.
I thought it was a particularly fresh way market a camera: rather than focusing on megapixels and shiny new features of the camera, the commercial makes the photographs the star.

Charlie,
Agreed, nice to see that photographs are the focal point of this ad.
Sad though that they were not, and in many cases could not, be taken with the camera that they advertise - most were shot with the ultra fast 1D Mk III - the XSi simply has not got the frame rate or AF tracking ability...
So much of video presentations use very short clips to the point that they could just a well be stills. This ad shows this very well.
