All Projects View
One of the great new features that make the whole post-process and organizing in Aperture 2.0 so much better is the "All Projects" view.
I am in a perpetual state of organization. Like many of us, I want to be meticulously organized, but end up constantly going through my urgent pile and don’t get past it often enough.
But Aperture will help you organize your photographic life, and the All Projects view lets me at a glance, know the project and quickly flip through a few images in it. Just make sure the Library is open and click on All Projects.
Every project in your library is now represented in the browser by one iconic or “key” image as Apple call it. I tend to make that image a favorite, one that i would choose to represent the entire project, which it will. I also like to slide the thumbnail resizing slider to the far right, making these icons as big as possible in All Project mode.
What is really cool, is when you place the cursor over that thumbnail image and move the mouse or your finger on the trackpad across the image, you will start to quickly scroll through the images in that project. This is not meant to be used for editing, but it allows you a quick overview of all images in that project to make sure you’re in the right place.
When you double-click on any of the images in the thumbnail, the project automatically launches in the browser with that image selected. (All Projects doesn’t work in full screen mode)
If you want to set a new image as your icon or Key photo to represent that project, just scroll to the new image and simply press the space bar. That image will now become your project cover photo or Key image.
When you’re inside a project editing and you see a photo you want to become your Key photo, control click and scroll to “Make Key Photo”.
It’s just another of a host of new features that makes using the new Aperture, faster and easier to get an overview of your entire library. I will be on the road soon and I’m looking forward to finding out just how more efficient I will be with the new version over old.

Spending time on the road with Aperture got faster and easier in 2.0

Yea, straight from iPhoto!...
I don't think I will be using it a lot, but it is nice for finding a certain photo-shoot when you don't remember when, but do remember some of the shots from the shoot..
You don't need to be in the project to set the key photo.
While skimming the project in "All projects" view stop when you see the image you want to set as the key photo and press the space bar. Move the cursor away and hey presto! The new key image is set!
The trick to using Aperture 2.0 at full speed is to leave it alone while it imports photos and builds previews. Then, use Preview mode as much as possible while ranking and keyworking photos. For the final bit of ranking, you can pop in and out of Preview mode to closely examine differences in images. Then, once you're down to your selects, processing goes smoothly enough. ________ Mac
