New "Non-Beta" Version of ApertureToPictage

The team over at Pictage.com and I are really excited to announce the release of the non-beta version of the ApertureToPictage plugin for Apple’s Aperture! Yes, it has been a long time in the making, but this new version is really incredible.

In this latest release we have really re-written quite a bit of the code to offer the following added benefits.

  • Upload speeds are now up to three times as fast as they were with the beta version.
  • There is now a really cool drag and drop user interface that allows you to edit and re-sort your Pictage categories.
  • The plugin now allows for queueing of jobs so you can rack up a number of batches and let it run over night.
  • You can also resume an upload if your computer crashes, or if you loose your internet connection. It just picks up where you left off.
  • And with background uploading, Aperture is free as soon as it finishes writing your files, so you can continue to work while the images are being sent in the background.
  • Additionally you can also choose to save your exported files to disk for other purposes.

There are a number of other finer details about this version but that is the gist of it. It was a really great experience developing the plugin and working with the team at Pictage.com. We really wanted to make it as seamless as possible to get images up to their system, and I think we have achieved it!

If you are a Pictage account holder you will probably be receiving an email about the update today. Or you can follow this link to download the new version after you have logged in to the system with your Pictage account info.

Sweet, now I have more reasons to convince a friend to switch!

Hey, Micah do you still need help with ApPluggedIn? I've been busy with school but have some free time.
